Whitney Hubbs has a BFA from the California College of the Arts and an MFA from UCLA. Through image-making, Whitney projects her own interior, psychological landscapes onto her costumed body with a humor that is at once slapstick and macabre. Acting out humiliation and abjection, the work slyly performs both a confession and a critique. Whitney's works has been featured or reviewed in the following publications: Artforum, Bomb Magazine, Frieze, CARLA, The New Yorker, Aperture, Art in America, and Charlotte Cotton’s, The Photograph as Contemporary Art. She is the Associate Director of Light Work in Syracuse, NY.
