Sandra Erbacher is a German interdisciplinary artist based in Providence, RI. Working across collage, photography, installation, and artist books, she critically engages the archive as a site where history is continuously produced and contested. She received an MFA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison (2014), a BFA from Camberwell College of Art, London (2009), and BA/MA degrees in Sociology from Goldsmiths, University of London. Erbacher has exhibited at venues including the Penumbra Foundation, Rueff Gallery at Purdue, Cuchifritos, mh PROJECT, the International Studio & Curatorial Program, Spring/Break, the Atlanta Contemporary, the Chazen Museum of Art, Parisian Laundry (Montreal), and Space (Portland, ME). Residencies include Skowhegan, Penumbra Risograph Residency, the Center for Book Arts, LMCC Workspace, and NARS Foundation. Her work is held in the Fidelity Investments Corporate Collection, the Stone Foundation, the Tedeschi Collection, and private collections across the US and Europe.
